About Ernesto Castro, founder
With a father and grandfather passing the family secrets of custom shoemaking, Ernesto Castro started his career in custom footwear early in life. Castro blended traditional custom shoemaking craftsmanship with medical knowledge gained as a certified pedorthist. Working with the medical community, Castro built a national reputation as an innovator and holds the patent on the Arizona AFO design.
Castro has lectured for years in the medical community, speaking at numerous conventions, seminars and workshops around the country. In addition to being a successful innovator, Castro is a successful business executive. He started a successful boutique shoe store and a custom footwear business. Ernesto Castro is a member of the Native American Yaqui tribe.
Don Pierson, CO, C.Ped, Director of Operations for Arizona, AFO, Inc.
With over 20 years of experience in the O & P industry, Don Pierson began by completing the comprehensive ABC Technician program while in White Bear Lake. Following that program, he became lab manager at an O & P facility in Illinois. Pierson continued his education and earned certification in both orthotics and pedorthics.
As Director of Operations he supervises all production and technical support aspects of the company as well as customer service and marketing. He is your contact for any technical or "how to" questions.
