AFO Unweighting Ankle Brace

The Unweighting Arizona AFO is similar in height to the Extended AFO except that the leather gauntlet extends to the top of the AFO. The closures also extend to the top of the device giving circumferential pressure all the way up the lower leg. This, combined with some modifications to the mold, help the device reduce the weight on the plantar surface of the heel and midfoot.

The Unweighting AFO creates medial and lateral stability to minimize weight bearing and sheer forces on the distal tibia, foot and ankle. It stabilizes the ankle area, talocalcaneal, midtarsal and subtalar joints.

The Unweighting AFO is indicated for those patients who experience any of the symptoms listed to the right.
